KNIGHT RIDER

1982-1997

On September 26, 1982, NBC aired a two-hour movie pilot called "Knight Rider" about a man who fought crimes with the aid of a talking car named KITT. The show had 4 successful seasons on NBC, and became an international hit (the title translated as "Super Car" in some countries.) A rising star named David Hasselhoff was cast in the lead role as Michael Knight; Emmy-Award winning actor William Daniels gave KITT his voice.

Even fans of Knight Rider may not remember some details about the very first episode of Knight Rider:

What did Michael Knight look like before surgery gave him a new face?

What were KITT's very first words?

These questions are answered in the following pages, which contain stills and audio clips from the Pilot episode. Enjoy your trip back to the early 80's!
